Awang Tengah leads team in discussion with Brunei over exit, entry charges

KUCHING: The exit and entry charges imposed on travellers entering Brunei effective October 1 was among issues discussed at the nearly two-hour online meeting between Sarawak and Brunei yesterday.

Also discussed at the meeting were issues involving the Covid-19 outbreak, immigration, and trade.

Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan held the online bilateral meeting with ministers from the Brunei government from his office at Wisma Sumber Alam yesterday morning.

Representing Brunei were the sultanate’s Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Erywan Pehin Datu Pekerma Jaya Mohd Yusof and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department and Minister of Finance and Economics II of Brunei Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Minister of Transport and Limbang MP Hasbi Habibollah, Assistant Minister of Agriculture Native Land and Regional Development Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Batu Danau assemblyman Paulus Palu Gumbang and senior government officials.
