Julian heads newly-formed safety, health association

MIRI: Miri Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Trainers Association has officially been formed after getting approval from the Registrar of Societies in Oct this year.

It is an organisation for all local trainers in the respective fields who holds trainer certifications recognised by the Association. Among its objectives are to guide and lead member trainers towards professionalism, to share and to update information on safety, occupational health and environment, to organise and to ensure the effective delivery of training with the upholding of acceptable norm and standard, and to disseminate training information to the public.

The association, under the chairmanship of Dr Julian Jolly, has elected its first term committee members.

Dr Loh Yunn Wah was elected vice chairperson, the secretary and assistant secretary posts went to Philip Sidadum and RoyceWell respectively, while James Empungan is the treasurer.

Other committee members are Wencesles G Toyad, Sarjit Singh, Regin Paii and Elvis Enggie. The publicity is Andreas Chai.

A simple ceremony to award life membership certificate to all life members was held at the association’s office here on Thursday.
