Bintulu floods: 71 victims still taking shelter at relief centre in Dewan Suarah

BINTULU: Seventy-one people from 25 families from Ulu Segan were still being housed at the temporary flood relief centre in Dewan Suarah Bintulu yesterday.

They comprised 39 adults, five senior citizens, 20 children, six infants, and one individual with special needs.

In its latest update yesterday, the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee said as of 4pm, 138 people from 43 families that were earlier placed at the Dewan Suarah Bintulu relief centre had returned to their houses at RPR Sebiew here.

Meanwhile, the temporary centre at Stadium Muhibah Bintulu officially closed at noon yesterday after the last remaining 30 flood victims had returned to their houses.
