BINTULU: The people must never let their guard down in the fight against Covid-19, says a Sarawak United People’s Party (SUPP) branch leader.
ohnny Pang, who is the party’s Bintulu branch chairman, said some medical experts had warned about the mutation of the virus.
“This remains a challenge; we must strive to strike a balance between the health of people and the growth of economy,” he said in a statement yesterday.
“We hope that the pandemic could be controlled in order for the borders to be reopened and the economic activities, especially those in tourism, services and manufacturing industries, to be restored.”
Pang also spoke about the Sarawak state election this year, of which he was confident that it would be conducted ‘wisely, in accordance with the new norms with regard to public health’.
“Let’s pray for Sarawak; let’s pray that it could sail into the wind and have a better tomorrow.
“Let’s turn over a new page and put behind all the bad memories in 2020,” he said.
