MIRI (Jan 4): Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak will try to reach a consensus with Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB) on seat allocations for a straight fight against Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) in the coming state election, said its chairman Larry Sng.
“My priority now is to reach a consensus on seat negotiations with PSB. That is what the public want to see- a straight fight with GPS,” he said when contacted by The Borneo Post today.
However, Sng said It remains to be seen if both parties could reach an amicable deal.
Sng said this when asked about the possibility of clashing with PSB as it does not appear to be working together with PKR.
Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sarawak component parties namely PKR, Democratic Action Party (DAP) and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) had on last Saturday signed an agreement on seat allocations for the 12th state election, with PKR contesting in 47 seats, DAP in 26 seats and Amanah in nine seats.
PSB had announced that it would contest in 65 seats. Among the seats that they could clash with PKR are Opar, Balai Ringin, Marudi, Tamin, Engkilili, Batang Ai and Lingga,
Sng said although there is room for negotiation, PKR’s preparation for the state election this year has proceeded as planned.
“All potential candidates for PKR have been identified and have been moving on the ground for the past six months,” he added.
