Masing sends video message on Covid-19 to Kapit folk

KAPIT: Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Datuk Amar Dr James Jemut Masing has sent a video message in Iban on Covid-19 to Kapit folk.

The Baleh assemblyman posted the message on his official Facebook page on Monday.

“Kapit, please be safe everyone. My heart goes out to all of you,” he said.

In the video that was nearly two minutes long, Masing pointed out that as of Monday (Feb 22), there were 654 Covid-19 cases in Kapit.

He stressed that the number of Covid-19 positive cases in Kapit was very worrying.

Masing advised the people to strictly follow the State Disaster Management Committee’s (SDMC) standard operating procedures such as practising social distancing, avoiding crowded places, practising a high level of personal hygiene, washing hands with soap or disinfectant regularly, and checking body temperature regularly.

He also called on the people to postpone planned wedding receptions or other social activities.

“Keep safe and be safe,” he added at the end of the
video.
