Guidelines on operating hours for businesses in KK during CMCO

KOTA KINABALU: Mayor Noorliza Awang Alip announced the operating hours and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for businesses permitted to open throughout the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) period in Kota Kinabalu here today.

She said businesses allowed to open in the state capital are according to those set by the Sabah government for the CMCO areas effective Feb 23 until March 4.

Nooraliza said the economic sector and manufacturing industry in the CMCO areas would carry out operations as prescribed by the government in compliance with the SOPs that have been set.

She said supermarkets, shopping malls, retail stores and grocery stores are allowed to operate between 6 am to 12 midnight.

She said sales of shotguns for the purpose of farm security to licensed owners are permitted with the approval of the police.

“Restaurants, cafes, eateries, food stalls, food trucks, hawkers, food courts, convenience stores, food delivery services, take away food and drive-throughs are allowed between 6 am to 12 midnight with compliance to the Food Sector SOP,” said Noorliza.

“Dine-in is allowed in restaurants including restaurants in hotel premises, shops or eateries, coffee shops and food courts with one-meter social distancing between customers according to table size capacity,” she added.

She said number forecast operators that are licensed under the Finance Ministry are allowed to operate on draw dates, 8 am to 7 pm, and non-draw dates, 8 am to 6 pm, whilst the slot machine operators licensed under the same ministry are allowed to operate from 10 am to 10 pm.

Noorliza said the 6 am to 12 midnight operation hours are applicable to petrol stations (including its convenience stores), launderettes (on the condition that launderette employees are present to control the number of customers in the premises), barber shops, salons, facial shops, spa services, reflexology, massage and wellness centres.
