SIBU: Members of the public are advised not to believe false information on social media but instead focus on registering themselves to get vaccinated, Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) chairman Sempurai Petrus Ngelai.

He pointed out that getting vaccinated is key to prevent getting infected with Covid-19.

Sharing his personal experience, Sempurai said he felt fine, after getting vaccinated on Saturday.

“My advice to the public, don’t be influenced by the unverified information in the social media. It is very safe as far as I am concerned.

“We are also very confident with our national health care agency which already approved the usage of this Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine.

“Please come forward register yourself with Mysejahtera app to be vaccinated. We all can make a difference in war against Covid-19 with this national vaccination programme,” he told The Borneo Post yesterday when asked to share his personal experience after getting vaccinated at Lanang Health Clinic here on Saturday.

Sempurai admitted he was very excited since early morning on the day of vaccination.

He recalled that the feeling of getting injected was just like any normal injection, with just slight pinch from the needle.

“After the injection, you would be asked to rest for 15 minutes. In other words, it is painless and no side effects immediate after I took my Pfizer-BioNTech Covid-19 vaccine,” Sempurai said.

He thanked Sibu Divisional Health Officer Dr Teh Jo Hun for the very efficient arrangement from the counter registration right up to the vaccination.
