EMCO ends at Kampung Sagah and Rh Payau Emperan Datuk

KUCHING (May 13): The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) has ended the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) for two Kampung Sagah here and Rh Payau Emperan Datuk, Sg Pinang in Sarikei today.

Both villages were placed under the strict order to break the chain of Covid-19 infections on April 30.

The committee also said in its Covid-19 daily update that the police had issued seven compounds in Bintulu (5), Sibu (1), and Padawan (1) districts for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPS).

This brings the total number of compounds issued since March 18, 2020 to 6,500.

“Five of the compounds were issued for being outdoors after 10pm without a valid reason; one to a premises for operating without permit; and one for not updating the customers’ registration book,” it said.

It also said that the Ministry of Local Government and Housing had issued 24 compounds under the jurisdiction of Betong District Council (4), Bintulu Development Authority (4), Dalat and Mukah District Council (3), Matu and Daro District Council (2), Maradong and Julau District Council (2), Padawan Municipal Council (2), Kota Samarahan Municipal Council (2), Kapit District Council (1), Miri City Council (1), Serian District Council (1), Marudi District Council (1) and Lawas District Council (1).

The compounds were issued for SOP violations such as not updating registration book entries or incomplete book entries (13); not wearing face masks (7); no physical distancing (2); did not register for MySejahtera or provide registration book (1); and operating over the time limit (1).

The total compounds issued by local authorities since Feb 1, 2021 have now increased to 461.
