KOTA KINABALU: Essential service employees in the state are only required to present two documents at police roadblocks when commuting during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period – work pass and employer’s authorization letter.

According to the latest standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the state government on Tuesday, police permit and Ministry of International Trade and Industry (Miti) documents are not required.

Commercial vehicles carrying essential goods are allowed to cross district, with the number of passengers according to the capacity registered in the license.

Meanwhile, public transports such as express buses and trains are not allowed to operate.

Only public transports operating in the same district are allowed to operate from 6 am to 8 pm, subject to SOPs such as physical distancing and face masks.
