Three more Sabah localities under EMCO

KOTA KINABALU: Three more localities in Sabah will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from June 11 to 24 after a surge of Covid-19 cases in these areas.

Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said the areas are Perumahan Kilang, Ladang Ong Ya Hoo in Kinabatangan and two villages in Kudat constituency namely Kampung Singgahmata, Banggi and Kampung Sin San.

In Ladang Ong Ya Hoo, 151 samples were taken and 28 tested positive.

In Kudat, the Ministry of Health recorded eight positive cases in Kampung Singgahmata, and nine in Kampung Sin San.

EMCO was announced to enable the MoH to conduct targeted screening tests on close contacts.
Meanwhile, Masidi also said in the statement on Wednesday that the EMCO in Kg Pirasan Ulu Kota Belud and Taman Sawit Balung in Tawau were lifted on June 9.
