LIMBANG (June 10): The Limbang Resident’s Office and Limbang Division Health Office will assist transportation operators here to meet the Brunei government’s latest cross-country permit and mandatory vaccination requirement on foreign registered transporters.
Agriculture, Native Land and Regional Development Assistant Minister Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail said this followed Brunei’s decision to allow only foreign registered transporters with Covid-19 vaccination certificates and cross-country permit issued by the Brunei government to enter the sultanate to deliver imported goods and services effective July 13 this year.
“I’ve already asked the Resident’s Office and the health office for Limbang Division to assist those transportation operators by giving vaccination priority to their transporters (drivers) for such requirement,” he told the media after visiting the vaccination centre (PPV) at Limbang Civic Centre yesterday.
The Bukit Kota assemblyman said the strict requirement by the Brunei government is part of their precautionary measures to curb the Covid-19 pandemic.
At the same time, he urged the Limbang Resident’s Office to give vaccination priority to media practitioners, both print and electronic media, in the division.
He also said another three PPVs will be set up for the district; namely at Batu Danau Community Hall, Mendamit Community Hall and Limbang Indoor Stadium, adding operations at these three new PPVs would start within this month.
He hoped with the four PPVs, vaccination in the district can be speeded up.
Also present were Batu Danau assemblyman Datuk Paulus Palu Gumbang, Limbang Resident Ir Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi and Limbang Division health officer Dr Norliza Jusoh.
