The state-level Integrity Essay-Writing competition and Integrity Virtual Public Speaking competition are now open for participation.
KUCHING (June 11): The State Integrity and Ombudsman Unit in collaboration with Pustaka Sarawak is organising a state-level Integrity Essay-Writing competition and Integrity Virtual Public Speaking competition.
The competitions are now open for participation to all Sarawakians throughout Malaysia and permanent residents of Sarawak aged 18 and above.
Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman) Datuk Talib Zulpilip said the two contests cover five themes and scopes.
“Participants are to base their essay or speech based on one of the following scopes, namely Integrity as a Principle of Life; Empowering Personal Integrity; Integrity in the New Society; Individual and Organisational Integrity; and Cultivation of Integrity in the Organisation,” he said in a statement.
He said the Integrity Essay-Writing competition aims to foster a sense of awareness in the society about the principles of integrity and intensify efforts to strengthen integrity in the community while the objectives of the Integrity Virtual Public Speaking competition include cultivating the principle of integrity in society in a more friendly and relaxed approach as well as fostering new methods (via video clips) in empowering understanding and awareness of integrity, among others.
“Attractive cash prizes are up for grabs where the champion of both competitions will win RM2,000 and a certificate.
“The second prize winners will be awarded with RM1,500 cash prize and a certificate while the third prize winners will win RM1,000 and a certificate,” he said, adding that consolation prizes of RM500 and a certificate will be given to three winners.
He also said that a RM300 cash prize and certificate will be awarded to the Most Creative Video category under the Integrity Virtual Public Speaking competition.
The entry requirements for both contests can be found by scanning the QR code found in the respective contest poster.
The closing date for the competitions is Aug 31.
