17 get compounds for non-compliance of SOP

BINTULU (June 12): A total of 17 individuals here were compounded for failing to comply with the standard operating procedures (SOP) during the current Movement Control Order (MCO).

Bintulu police chief Supt Zulkipli Suhaili said they were detected by an integrated SOP monitoring team during routine check in Bintulu town between 12.30am and 2.10pm on Friday.

“All of them, aged between 17 and 63, are locals,” he said in a media statement.

Six of them were issued summons for loitering in the public areas beyond the permitted time without excuse, 12 individuals for not wearing face masks and one person for leaving the Active case Detection (ACD) area.

He said the compounds were issued under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations 2021

Zuklipli added that daily monitoring to ensure SOP compliance are being carried out to break the chain of Covid-19 infection.

‘I strongly urge the community to abide by the SOPs and together, we can help flatten the curve.”
