SIBU (June 12): A 63-year-old vegetable seller was killed after she lost control of her car and crashed into roadside cones at Mile 12, Jalan Sibu-Bintulu round 7am yesterday.
According to Sibu police chief ACP Stanley Jonathan Ringgit, the victim has been identified as Sima Danna from Rumah Nari, Batu 11, Jalan Oya here.
“The victim was heading from Bintulu towards Sibu/Bintulu roundabout when she arrived at a road under construction at Mile 12 before losing control of her car and crashed into the roadside cone at the right side of the road,” he said in a media statement.
Paramedics from Sibu Hospital pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
There was very minimal damage to the car.
Stanley said the case will be investigated under Section 41 of the Road Transport Act, 1987.
