Recoda donates equipment to aid with vaccine roll-out in Lawas

KUCHING (June 25): The Northern Region Development Agency (NRDA) yesterday handed over a vaccine refrigerator, cold boxes and air conditioning equipment to the Lawas District Health Office and the Lawas District Council.

The act is part of the Regional Corridor Development Authority’s (Recoda) Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme.

“Deputy Chief Minister and NRDA chairman Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan witnessed the handover from NRDA regional director Datu Ubaidillah Abdul Latip to Lawas District health officer Dr Farida Nazahiya Mohd Salleh at the Islamic Training Institute of Malaysia (ILIM) Lawas Campus this afternoon,” said a press statement issued by Recoda head office in Kuching.

Also witnessing the ceremony were Lawas Member of Parliament Datuk Henry Sum Agong and Limbang Resident Ahmad Denney Ahmad Fauzi while the Lawas District Council was represented by council secretary Zulkifli Sahari.

The donations included one top loading vaccine refrigerator, 12 emergency tool boxes, eight cold boxes, two air conditioners, three portable air conditioners, a dozen foldable chairs, five mobile toilets, four laptops, ice packs and a projector.

“The items will be used to facilitate efforts to provide healthcare and to boost the Covid-19 vaccination drive for the surrounding communities,” said the statement.

NRDA is a regional development agency under Recoda, which is tasked with implementing socio-economic and infrastructure projects in the Sarawak Corridor of Renewable Energy (SCORE).

The statutory body also promotes and facilitates investments to SCORE as well as create job opportunities for Sarawakians.
