Five Sabah villages under EMCO

KOTA KINABALU: Kampung Siasai Dundau and Kampung Pantai Emas in Kota Belud, Kampung Naruntung in Pitas, Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang in Tawau and Kampung Babagon in Panampang will be placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from July 4 to 17.

State Covid-19 spokesperson  Datuk Masidi Manjun announced this in a statement on Friday, after the Ministry of Health (MOH) saw a rise of Covid-19 cases in all the localities.

“A total of eight cases were recorded in Kampung Siasai Dundau after 15 individuals were screened while in Kampung Pantai Emas, 73 people were screened and 10 new positive cases were reported.

“In Kampung Naruntung Pitas, the Ministry of Health has conducted 86 screenings and 21 of them were tested positive.

“The MOH found that cases in the particular locality had increased in a short period of time with high infectious rates,” he said.

In Kampung Iban Kuala Nansang Tawau, the MOH has screened 14 samples and eight of them were positive. Meanwhile in Kampung Babagon, 40 samples were screened and 11 of them were positive.
