Covid-19: 289 new cases in Sarawak as Malaysia records 7,097 new cases

KUCHING (July 7): Sarawak’s new Covid-19 cases today maintained within the 200 range at 289.

This was an increase of three cases from yesterday’s 286 cases.

Health director-general Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah in a Facebook post said the state’s latest figure brought its cumulative number of cases to 67,560.

Sarawak now placed fifth in the country among states reporting new cases.

With Malaysia recording 7,097 new cases today, Selangor continued to top the list with an alarming 3,119 cases. This is followed by Kuala Lumpur, Negeri Sembilan and Melaka with 1,005, 788 and 358 cases respectively.

New cases were also recorded in Pahang with 258 cases, Sabah (244), Johor (224), Kedah (198), Perak (187), Penang (140), Kelantan (123), Labuan (93), Terengganu (43), Putrajaya (26) and Perlis (2).

The cumulative total of positive cases in the country is fast approaching the 800,000 mark at 799,790 cases.
