PH Presidential Council said the coalition will continue to focus its efforts on solving the people’s problems, Covid-19 crisis management, and a more rapid vaccination programme.

KUALA LUMPUR (July 8): It is not the right time to hold elections due to the high number of Covid-19 cases and a public health system that is increasingly being suffocated, Pakatan Harapan (PH) said today.

The PH Presidential Council in a statement said, as such, PH will continue to focus its efforts on solving the people’s problems, Covid-19 crisis management, and a more rapid vaccination programme.

“PH is also focusing on measures to revive the country’s economy through policies scrutinised and announced by the PH committee.

“We need to focus more on saving the lives and economy of the people in the wake of the worsening Covid-19 crisis, rather than continuing to politicise for positions and rewards,” the statement read.

The statement was jointly signed by PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Amanah president Mohamad Sabu and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng. – Bernama
