KOTA KINABALU: Sabah will be moving to phase two of the national recovery plan from July 10, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob announced on Thursday.

He said in a statement that the state had met the three required thresholds, while the Phase 2 SOPs can be found at the National Security Council’s website.

Sabah Covid-19 spokesperson Datuk Masidi Manjun tweeted on Wednesday that Sabah is expected to transition to the second phase on Saturday.

He said Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had approved one million doses of vaccine for Sabah.

This will help the state to enter phase two, allowing for increased economic and social activities as well as longer opening hours for eateries.

“Thank you Khairy, MOSTI minister for approving an increase in Sabah’s vaccines quota for July to 1 million doses, an addition of about 300k doses.

“We have been asking for an equitable share of the vaccines to enable Sabah to qualify for phase two of the recovery plan,” Masidi said in his Twitter post.
