JOHOR BAHRU (July 10): The Health Ministry (MOH) is waiting for a report from the Selangor Health Department (JKNS) regarding a man’s allegation that he was injected with an empty syringe when getting his Covid-19 vaccination at a government hospital.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba said Selangor Health director Datuk Dr Sha’ari Ngadiman was in the process of finalising the report.

“I did not contact the hospital director but was only briefed by the Selangor Health director.

“This is because the hospital is under his (state director’s) supervision and he has to attend to the matter,” he said when contacted by Bernama here today.

This case is under police investigation and the ministry would accept the police findings, he said.

Dr Adham said the vaccination process at the said hospital is continuing as normal.

“The vaccination programme will continue because it (the incident) should not disrupt the process. We (many districts) are under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) in Selangor.

“We need to proceed in order to ramp up vaccination. Whenever such cases were reported, we just have to wait for the results of investigations,” he added.

On July 7, the man lodged a report about the incident and Kuala Langat police confirmed that they are investigating the case. – Bernama
