Malaysia records another 7,276 Covid-19 cases

KUALA LUMPUR (Oct 12): Malaysia added another 7,276 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total number of infected to 2,353,579 cases.

This is the 10th straight day where cases have remained below 10,000.

“There are 724 cases in the intensive care unit (ICU) of which 41 are suspected, probable or under investigation still for Covid-19.

“Those in need of the ventilator to breathe are 398 of which 297 are positive for Covid-19,” Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said in a statement today.

Of the total number of infections today, 150 cases were Categories 3, 4 and 5.

He also reported 14 new clusters bringing the total number of active clusters to 783.

Six of those new clusters were workplace clusters, five community clusters, two educational clusters and one high risk group cluster.

Four of the new clusters were found in Johor, three in Selangor, two in Penang, one in Perak, Kuala Lumpur, Sarawak and Melaka. — Malay Mail
