Four Covid-19 fatalities, including one BID, in S’wak from Nov 7-15

KUCHING (Nov 16): Sarawak recorded four Covid-19 fatalities between Nov 7 to 15, including one Brought In Dead (BID) case, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

The committee said that the BID case involved an asthmatic 32-year-old man from Bintulu whose body was brought to Bintulu Hospital on Nov 7.

The second death was on Nov 14 involving a 59-year-old woman from Kuching who passed away at the Sarawak General Hospital (SGH). She suffered from comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes and chronic kidney disease.

On the same day, a woman aged 86 from Kuching also passed away at SGH. She suffered from high blood pressure and dyslipidaemia.

On Nov 15, a 71-year-old woman from Sibu passed away at Sibu Hospital. She had comorbidities of high blood pressure, diabetes and dyslipidaemia.

Meanwhile, SDMC said that no new Covid-19 clusters were reported and no new cases were reported from the existing 10 clusters in the state.

The committee said that the police have issued 10 compounds in Kuching for violations of standard operating procedures (SOPs) and all of the offences were for not scanning the MySejahtera QR code or registering manually when entering a premises.

To date, the police have issued a total of 12,158 compounds for violations of SOPs.

On a separate note, SDMC said that Ruman Naing, Nanga Bulo, Sungai Lijan in Julau had been placed under the Enhanced Movement Control Order (EMCO) from Nov 15-21.
