Covid-19: Nine more deaths including four BIDs recorded in S’wak from Nov 12-17

BINTULU (Nov 18): Sarawak recorded nine Covid-19 deaths between Nov 12 and Nov 17, with four being brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) in its Covid-19 daily update today, one of the BID cases was of a 41-year-old man from Kapit on Nov 12, who was brought to the Bintulu Hospital, and with unknown medical history.

Another BID case was recorded on Nov 13 involving a 77-year-old man from Limbang who had hypertension and dyslipidaemia. His body was brought to Lawas Hospital.

The third death on Nov 15 involved a woman aged 91 from Mukah, who died in Mukah Hospital and had no known medical history.

Three deaths were recorded on Nov 16 involving a 76-year-old woman from Sibu, as well as two BID cases of a woman aged 72 from Sarikei and a 74-year-old woman from Kuching. All victims had comorbidities.

Meanwhile, three other deaths were recorded on Nov 17 involving a 69-year-old man from Kuching who died in Sarawak General Hospital, and had hypertension and diabetes; a 75-year-old woman from Sibu with hypertension, diabetes, dyslipidaemia and cancer died in Sibu Hospital; and a man aged 59 from Limbang who died in Miri Hospital and had hypertension, diabetes and chronic obstructive kidney disease.

In another development, SDMC revealed that the Sarawak police have issued 18 standard operating procedure (SOP) violation compounds, where 14 were in Kuching, three in Miri and one in Sibu.

The committee said 10 compounds were issued for failing to scan MySejahtera or registering their particulars before entering a premises, five for not wearing a face mask, and three for gathering and not adhering to physical distancing.
