Covid-19: Only 10 out of 311 new cases in Sarawak today in Categories 3-5

BINTULU (Nov 18): A total of 301 out of 311 new Covid-19 cases in Sarawak today were under Categories 1 and 2, said the State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC).

According to SDMC in its daily update on the pandemic, 110 cases were in Category 1 involving asymptomatic patients, and 191 in Category 2 with mildly symptomatic patients.

The remaining 10 cases consisted of seven in Category 4 with patients having pneumonia and requiring oxygen support, and three Category 5 with patients having pneumonia requiring ventilator support.

Meanwhile, Kuching today remind on top with 112 new cases, followed by Miri (39), Serian (19), Sibu (18), Bintulu (18), Lawas (14), Betong (13), and Limbang (13).

Districts recording single-digit cases were Mukah (8), Samarahan (8), Sri Aman (7), Pusa (6), Sarikei (5), Simunjan (5), Bau (5), Lundu (3), Subis (3), Meradong (2), Pakan (2), Selangau (2) and one each in Belaga, Saratok, Kapit, Dalat, Matu, Telang Usan, Kanowit, Beluru, and Kabong.

Sarawak’s cumulative number of cases now stands at 248,544.

SDMC also announced the end of two clusters namely the Pinang Jawa Cluster and the Giam Cluster, both in Kuching, after no new cases were detected in the past 28 days.

It also said that there were no new Covid-19 clusters detected in Sarawak today nor new cases reported from the six active clusters.
