KUCHING (Nov 18): A 21-year-old motorcyclists perished after he was involved in an accident with a pickup truck at KM16 Jalan Bau-Lundu at around 7.45am this morning.
Sarawak Traffic Investigation and Enforcement chief Supt Alexson Naga Chabu in a statement today said the deceased has been identified as Danny Christopher Daylang from Kampung Stenggang, Jalan Bau-Lundu.
“The deceased was exiting a junction at Jalan Lama Kampung Stenggang when he collided with the pickup truck that was heading to Lundu from Bau,” said Alexson.
He added that the driver of the pickup truck, a 29-year-old male from Bau did not suffer from any physical injuries in the accident.
Alexson also revealed that the deceased was heading to work at a Wataniah army camp in Kota Sentosa when he met with the accident.
The deceased, he said, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Bau Hospital.
Early police investigations showed that the weather was fine at the time of the accident.
The body has since been transferred to the Bau Hospital’s morgue for further action and the case is currently being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
