SIBU (Nov 19): A 49-year-old man who reportedly fell into Sungai Oya, Nanga Tamin in Selangau while checking his fishing net on Tuesday was found drowned yesterday.

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) in a statement said the body of Limbie Gira was discovered about a kilometre from where he was last seen.

“Bomba Selangau received information that members of the public found the body, prior to the start of a search-and-rescue operation today (Nov 18).

“The body was handed over to police for further action,” it said.
Limbie was said to be inspecting his fishing net at the river on Tuesday when he reportedly fell into the water around 4pm.
