KOTA KINABALU (Nov 29): Sabah’s new Covid-19 cases decreased by 66 to 342 cases on Monday, the lowest since July 15.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun said Kinabatangan topped the list with 85 cases, 84 of which were from the existing Sawit Mania cluster.

“The cases under the Sawit Mania Cluster occurred two days ago but were recorded today upon verification of test results.”

He said 20 districts in Sabah registered single-digit case, with five recorded zero new case.

Six districts saw significant decrease in cases, namely Kota Kinabalu -29 cases, Ranau -17 cases, Tuaran -16 cases, Beluran -14 cases, Penampang -13 cases and Kota Belud -10 cases.

“Only three districts saw a rise in new cases, including Kinabatangan which registers a high increase due to the Sawit Mania Clsuter,” he said, adding that six districts maintained their Sunday’s figures.

Masidi, who is Sabah’s Covid-19 spokesperson, said 98 per cent of the cases fell under Category 1 and 2, two in Category 3, one in Category 4 and one in Category 5. Three cases are still being assessed by the State Health Department.
