Woman falls to her death from Kota Kinabalu building

KOTA KINABALU (Jan 21): A woman is believed to have fallen to her death from a four-storey building at Lintas Plaza here early this morning.

Kota Kinabalu police chief Assistant Commissioner Mohd Zaidi Abdullah said the victim, identified as Then Ka Ling, 50, from Penampang, was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics due to severe head and body injuries in the 7.50am incident on Jan 21.

“According to the initial police investigation, the victim, believed to be a kindergarten teacher, had driven her Perodua Bezza car to the parking lot around 7.10am.

“Police believed the victim fell from the fourth floor of the parking lot, and was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene,” he said, adding that there were no signs of foul play.

The victim’s body has been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital for a postmortem.

Police are investigating the case from all angles and urged any eyewitness to come forward to assist police in their investigation, said Mohd Zaidi.
