249 new Covid-19 cases in Sabah

KOTA KINABALU (July 28): Sabah recorded 249 new Covid-19 cases on Thursday with Papar, Tuaran and the city centre reported significant increase.

Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun said Papar recorded 23 new infections compared to 12 cases the previous day, while Tuaran reported 27 new infections compared to only 20 on Wednesday.

“Kota Kinabalu topped the list with 96 cases on Thursday, an increase of 31 compared to 65 on Wednesday.

“In conclusion, the increase in Kota Kinabalu affects the overall number of new cases in Sabah.

“A total of seven districts did not record any new cases in the past 24 hours namely Nabawan, Beaufort, Kalabakan, Kota Belud, Pitas, Ranau, Semporna and Telupid,” he said.

From the 249 new cases recorded on Thursday, 244 are from Categories 1 and 2, one case in Category 3 and four in Category 4.
