SIBU (Aug 21): A search and rescue operation (SAR) has been launched to locate an octogenarian who was reported missing after he failed to return home from the jungle near Kemuyang Youth Camp here yesterday.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre in a statement said the victim was identified as Kuta Jenang.
“Sibu Jaya Bomba station deployed seven personnel to the scene after being notified by the police at 10.35am today that a woman had lodged a report that her husband failed to return home going to the jungle on Aug 20,” Bomba added.
Bomba said the Kuta’s family members and fellow villagers had conducted a search for him but they only found his sun hat.
