Motorcyclist cheats death in multiple vehicle accident at Kota Sentosa

KUCHING (Sept 4): A motorcyclist suffered a leg injury in a collision involving multiple vehicles at the traffic light intersection of Jalan Liu Shan Bang in Kota Sentosa yesterday morning.

The injured motorcyclist lying on the grass after his motorcycle was hit by the car.

Padawan police chief Supt Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said the incident occurred around 7.55am when the motorcyclist was struck by a car that had beaten the red light.

“After crashing into the motorcycle, the driver of the car then struck the front of a four-wheel-drive (4WD) vehicle causing it to hit the rear of another vehicle,” he said in a statement.

He said the incident left the motorcyclist with injuries to his right leg.

“The 33-year-old car driver was found to not possess a driving licence. He complained of chest pain and was sent to Sarawak General Hospital together with the motorcyclist.

“Those inside the 4WD and the other vehicle were unhurt,” he said.

The case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
