KUCHING (Jan 20): Sarawak Forest Department (SFD) has received the Silver award of the Anti-Corruption, Integrity and Governance Award (AIGA) 2022 for their commitment in combating corruption
SFD was among the 115 public and private agencies from all over Malaysia attending the ceremony held by Institut Integriti at Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday night.
The award was presented to SFD director Datu Hamden Mohammad by Deputy Prime Minister Dato Sri Fadillah Yusof.
“SFD has received a high recognition through the AIGA Silver award; apart from adhering to good governance and practising a culture of integrity, SFD has also shown commitment in combating corruption within the organisation.
“We in SFD are proud to have achieved such high recognition for our continuous effort and commitment in stamping out corruption all these years,” said Hamden in a statement.
Hamden stressed that the recognition was another milestone to mark the beginning of a new chapter in working towards the goal of managing and conserving Sarawak’s Forest for a balanced and sustainable development while keeping in line with the Post-Covid Development Strategy 2030.
Also present at the prestigious award ceremony were Deputy Minister in the Sarawak Premier’s Office (Ombudsman and Integrity) Dato Dr Juanda Jaya and SFD Internal Audit and Integrity Unit Coordinator Abdul Wahab Ahmad.
