S’wak’s GEM Consultancy bags award at HRD Awards 2022

KUCHING (Jan 20): Sarawak training provider, GEM Consultancy, emerged at the top as one of the most outstanding training providers among 31 other exceptional winners nationwide in Human Resources Development Awards 2022 (HRD Awards 2022) last Tuesday.

The 20th HRD Awards 2022 Gala Dinner was officiated by Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar.

This year, the prestigious event witnessed 17 awards given under Human Resources Minister award for large employers; among the notable recipients were Sarawak Shell Berhad, Top Glove Corporation Bhd, Malaysia Airlines and 7-Eleven Malaysia.

GEM Consultancy, a local Sarawak training provider that has been in the industry since 2003, caters to the needs of upskilling, reskilling and nurturing the talent of Sarawakians, passed the meticulous judging from 5,508 nominations by external panellists consisting of industry representatives from the Employers’ Associations and Government Agencies together with internal panellists from HRD Corp after several months of review.

The panellists’ assessment followed strict criteria to ensure first class winners were chosen; the training provider must consistently provide and deliver high quality training programs to the national workforce from 2020 to July 2022 and have adopted the best methods in developing programmes aligned with current industry trends.

The HRD Awards was introduced in 2001 under the auspices of the Ministry of Human Resources and is the highest national recognition that celebrates employers, training providers and trainers who have successfully integrated ingenious human capital transformation methods within the organisation and industries.

Present were Deputy Minister of Human Resources Mustapha Sakmud and HRD Corp Chief Executive Datuk Shahul Dawood.
