SIBU (April 14): The 10th Battalion General Operations Force (GOF) have seized contraband alcoholic beverages and cigarettes valued at RM388,236 in raids at two premises here on Thursday.
In a statement, Sibu police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said the first raid to a store at Jalan Aman took place around 1.30pm, where the police seized various brands of cigarettes worth RM28,320.
Meanwhile, the police seized different brands of alcoholic drinks and cigarettes valued at RM359,916 in the second raid to a house at Jalan Nibong around 5.30pm
The cases are investigated under Section 135(1) (d) of Customs Act 1969.
