KUCHING (April 15): The Women Leadership Foundation (WLF) will be hosting the second edition of Sarawak Women of Tomorrow (SWOT) Bootcamp this June 10 to June 13.

This was following a good response from its inaugural launch held here in March last year, where a total of 29 female leaders from Sarawak’s public and private sectors took part in the 3-day SWOT Bootcamp, said WLF deputy chairperson Datuk Zunaidah Idris.

“We have received many requests to hold the bootcamp again,” said Zunaidah when met during a courtesy call to State Minister of Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah at Bangunan Baitulmakmur (Masja) 2 here yesterday.

The bootcamp provides a platform for the female leaders to understand the importance and benefits of sustainable digitalisation, as well as giving the participants insights into the Sarawak government’s policies, she said.

“For this year’s second edition, we are targeting to have around 50 participants,” she said, adding that the three-day bootcamp will be officiated by Fatimah.

Meanwhile, Fatimah, who was all supportive of the bootcamp expressed her hopes that it would inspire women in leadership.

“We have been informed that several companies are planning to send their staff for the bootcamp and this is a good sign of support,” said Fatimah.

“WLF is committed in promoting women leadership, and in creating platforms for women to hone their leadership qualities,” she said, adding that the ministry will continue to collaborate with WLF towards achieving the goals.

WLF Board of Trustee member Datu Rashidah Bolhassan; chief executive officer Emylia Liyana Anwar; and Women and Family Department Sarawak director Salmah Jobeli were also present during the courtesy call yesterday.
