KUCHING (May 9): A state-level Mother’s Day celebration will be held in Sarawak on May 25 as the State Library.
Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Dato Sri Nancy Shukri said similar celebrations would also be organised in every state nationwide, while the national-level celebration will take place at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn, World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTCKL), on May 10.
“The national-level celebration will be officiated by the Raja Permaisuri Perak Tuanku Zara Salim at Dewan Tun Hussein Onn,” she told reporters after the Pre-State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Council meeting at the Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) headquarters here today.
Nancy said various activities would also be held in conjunction with Mother’s Day to further enliven the celebration.
Extending her wishes to all mothers, she said the occasion serves as a reminder of the love, appreciation and respect accorded to mothers.
“Respect our mothers and love our mothers because one day we ourselves will also become mothers.
“And to husbands, show love and affection to your wives who have become the mothers of our children,” she said.
