KOTA KINABALU: Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Bhd (PNMB) has invested about RM3 million to upgrade its Sabah branch, enabling it to  offer the latest technology to meet the needs of the local market.

The branch, formerly the PNMB shop in Inanam near here, has been relocated to Lot 7, Kota Kinabalu Industrial Park near
the Telipok township, and offered new technology already enjoyed by customers in the peninsula, said the national printer’s managing director Izham Yusoff.

“The branch is our gift to our loyal customers and the best alternative to new customers as we provide the latest technology,” he said in his speech at the launch of the new premises yesterday by State Assembly Speaker Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak. Also present was PNMB chairman Tan Sri Dr Zulkefli A Hassan.

Izham said unlike other branches in the country, the new branch was the result of a thorough study on the needs of the Sabah market.

He also expressed confidence that it would in future form the hub of the printing industry in the state, Brunei and Labuan.

He added that the national printer was in the midst of a transformation process to ensure its relevance and competitiveness in the market.

“We are offering printing services not just to government departments and  agencies but are also looking to penetrate the private sector market,” he said. — Bernama
