Wushu coaching-cum-judging course in July

KUCHING: More than 50 participants from Kuching, Kota Samarahan, Betong, Mukah, Sarikei, Sibu, Bintulu, Miri and Singkawang, Indonesia are expected to attend a Wushu coaching and Judging course jointly organised by Sarawak Dragon-Lion Dance & Wushu Association (PTNSWS) and the state Youth & Sports Department (JBS) at the JBS Complex, Kuching from July 10-13.

According to a PTNSWS press statement, association president Lee King Choon and JBS director Abdul Haris Bin Ishak have expressed delight that two internationally renowned Wushu personalities Professor Ma Min Qing and Master Peng Ying from the Hebei Institute of Physical Education, China will be on hand to conduct the course. Participants will be updated on the coaching and judging aspects as well as given tips on improving development programmes.

Professor Ma is an International Wushu Federation (IWUF) Grade A licensed judge and Dean of Wushu Faculty at Hebei Institute of Physical Education.

Master Peng Ying, an ex-world champion, is well known in local circles as she had been Sarawak state coach and Malaysia national coach.
