Organisations, hospitals awarded under Socso’s Return to Work Programme KUALA LUMPUR: Various organisations and hospitals were awarded due to recognition of their contribution to provide excellent disability management to their employees by participating in the Social Security Organisation Malaysia (Socso) Return to Work Programme. A Disability Management Excellence Award event was held to celebrate the achievements in conjunction with the International Forum on Disability Management 2016. The awards were presented by Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot and Socso chief executive officer Datuk Dr Mohammed Azman Aziz. Wednesday’s award winners were divided into six categories comprising Best Employer, Best Disability Manager, Best Job Placement Officer, Best Return to Work Clinic, Best Return to Work Participant and Best Rehabilitation Provider. For the Best Employer category, Brahim’s SATS Food Services won the Gold award, while the Silver award went to Excelstat Enterprise, and the Bronze award to Adabi Consumer Industries Sdn Bhd. The winners for Best Disability Manager category Gold award was Emy Baizur Azrin Mohamed Hakke, from Socso Selangor; Amir Efendi Mohamad from Socso headquarters received the Silver award while Saharudin Mohd Nor from Socso Negeri Sembilan received the Bronze award. Meanwhile, there were three winners in the Best Job Placement Officer category. They were Suriana Mohd Hamil for Gold and Mohd Shopian Harun (Silver), both winners from the Socso headquarters; while Mohammad Asyraf Ariff, from Socso Penang received the Bronze award. The Best Return to Work Clinic category Gold award winner was Tuanku Jaafar Hospital, Seremban; while Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Kota Kinabalu received the Silver award and Sungai Buloh Hospital, the Bronze award. The Best Return to Work Participant category Gold award winner was Datuk Zamrin Panta, Hang Chong Soon (Silver) and Mujahid Baser (Bronze). In the final category, Best Rehabilitation Provider Gold award was received by Infinite Rehabilitation (M) Sdn Bhd, Sau Seng Lum Rehabilitation (PJ) (Silver) and DBC (Bronze). — Bernama In his keynote speech, Riot said the programme was included as one of the Key Performance Indicators of the ministry to address poverty concerns among people with disability. “This showcases how serious this is viewed by the government in ensuring economic empowerment among people with disabilities, in particular through employment after rehabilitation,” he added. — Bernama
