KUCHING: A couple was detained by the police after they were caught driving a stolen car at Mendu Road on Friday night.
Earlier that day, the Proton Waja silver colour car was reported stolen at around 2pm in Matang.
The owner of the car spotted the stolen vehicle in Padungan area and followed it from a safe distance while contacting the police.
The police eventually stopped the couple at Mendu Road.
Upon questioning, the male partner told the police that the vehicle belonged to his friend and that he did know it was a stolen car.
They were later arrested and brought to the Simpang Tiga police station for further investigation.
