Businesswoman leads Tawau Toastmasters Club

TAWAU: Businesswoman Lynda Lee Ping has been elected as the new president of the Tawau Toastmasters Club.The other executive committee members of the club are vice president education Datin Betty Hiew, vice president membership Dr Joe Yap, vice president public relations Liew Hon Min, secretary Vera Yap, treasurer Lim Ko Wii, sergeant-at-arms Donysiew Julian and committee members Grace Yong, Elizabeth Goh, Lucy Lo and Hj Yalah Munur.

Prior to being elected the president, Lynda has held many positions in the club.

She was vice president education, secretary, treasurer and committee member.

She also took part in club and area level speech contests.

Lynda is one typical example of how the Toastmasters International programme is all about.

Toastmasters International helps its members to improve their public speaking, leadership and communication skills.

It has helped million of people around the world.

After joining Tawau Toastmasters Club in 2005, she has transformed from a shy and timid person to one who dares to take the stage and deliver her speeches even entering speech contests.

She moves a step further to lead the club as the new president.

She has chosen, “Stepping Up Stepping Out” as her presidential theme.

Lynda and the new executive committee members will be installed at the club’s 14th installation banquet on June 6.

Toastmasters International District 87 Division K Governor Datin Grace Chiu will be the guest of honour at the function while area governor Norman Chin will install the officers.

Tawau Toastmasters Club meets every second and fourth Tuesday night at the Federation of Chinese Societies Tawau, Ba Zhong Commercial Complex, Tawau.
