KUCHING: A college student was left with bruises on his head and body after he was attacked with motorcycle helmets and robbed by two women and a male accomplice.
The incident happened around 9.30pm on Wednesday at the Batu Kawah new township when the 19-year-old, from Johor, was looking for his elder sister’s apartment unit in the area.
According to him, the group of three approached him and relieved him of his handphone and wallet, which contained about RM250 in cash and various documents. When he tried to recover the stolen items, the two women attacked him using motorcycle helmets while the man grabbed a piece of wood and joined in the assault.
Following the incident, the student immediately made his way to the nearby Batu Kawah police station and lodged a report.
In an unrelated incident, five foreign women and a local man were arrested by police yesterday on suspicion of being involved in vice activities.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house at Foochow Road No.1 around 9am and picked up the women, aged between 20 and 35, along with the 20-something man, who is suspected of being the women’s pimp.
All six were brought back to district police headquarters and detained for further investigation.
