SIBU: The Sibu Blood Bank is facing a shortage of blood for all groups.
Its publicity officer Kenneth Numan revealed, lamenting that the some 70 pints of blood collected last Sunday was nearly drained.
“We call on donors to come forward urgently to donate to help save lives,” he said yesterday.
Kenneth explained that it was very difficult to get donors at this time of the year as most were away on holiday.
He thus urged the public to turn up in full force at MRC building, starting at 1.30pm on Boxing Day.
He added: “It is imperative that we replenish our stock to an optimal level to keep abreast with demand.”
Kenneth advised donors to take adequate rest before donating to avoid getting rejected.
