KUALA LUMPUR: An unemployed man with five children was charged in the Magistrate’s Court here today with the murder of his 10-day old daughter five days ago.
However, no plea was recorded from Muhammad Rafiq Suresh Abdullah after the charge was read before Magistrate Siti Shakirah Mohtarudin.
Muhammad Rafiq, 38, was charged with murdering the girl at a house at Jalan Kepong Batu 6 3/4, Jinjang here, between 11am and 6pm last Feb 13.
Her body was found buried behind the house.
He is charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code which carries the mandatory death sentence upon conviction.
The court set April 18 for mention.
