Some 70 tourism industry players join ‘Fly and Drive 2011’ programme

KUCHING: Around 70 tourism industry players took part in the ‘Fly and Drive 2011’ programme to be promoted as part of tourism packages.

The programme which was held at the Riverside Majestic Hotel yesterday encouraged tourism players to offer a complete package concept to tourists which include flight, car rental and accommodation.

It was jointly held by MAS Holidays, Firely Holiday and Car Rental Association of Malaysia (CRAM).

The ‘Fly and Drive’ programme is targeted at domestic tourists and aimed to encourage domestic holidays from Sabah and Sarawak to Penisular Malaysia and vice-versa.

It is also to help increase economic development in airline companies and car rental companies as well as travel agencies.

The package is also to help hotel owners increase their hotels average rates in line with the government’s effort to generate income through tourism especially during economic crisis.
