KUCHING: Dried flowers and wreaths are seen at the graves of Iban trackers and Sarawak Rangers buried at the Heroes Grave in Jalan Budaya, Kuching yesterday.
Although Malaysia celebrates its 48th birthday today, no attempt seems to have been made to spruce up the graves in acknowledgement of the sacrifices of those who fought for this nation.
The remains of the 21 Iban trackers and Sarawak Rangers were returned to Sarawak on July 27.
They were originally buried at various locations in Peninsular Malaysia as well as Singapore. — Photo by Chimon Upon
