SIBU: The MSS (Majlis Sekolah Sukan)Sibu Division will field a contingent of 141 athletes to the State level MSS Sports Meet to be held at Tun Zaidi Stadium here from April 17 to 20.
The divisional contingent colours were handed over to the contingent’s representative, Ling Ching Ang, who is also the the team assistant manager by the Sibu Division Education officer, Wong Chong Kung, on Friday.
According to Ling, all the other 10 divisions in the state would be taking part in the four-day meet which is expected to be declared open by the State Education director Abdillah Adam. He said the meet would have eight categories, Under-12, Under-14, Under-15 and Under-18 for boys and girls.
“Our athletes were selected from the MSS Sibu Division inter-schools sports meet held last month,” he said.
Last year, Miri which hosted the meet was the overall champion while Kuching was second and Sibu finished third.
