The Invited Guests title went to Bong Tee Yen who scored 37 points, with Prof Dr Mohd Syafiq coming in second after scoring 36 points and beating Joseph Nyalau on count back.

The first edition of the SCGA tournament received an overwhelming response and support which saw 128 golfers comprising mostly SCGA members and non-Chinese friends and supporters registered for the event.

Many late comers were disappointed for not making the cut.

Among those who tee-ed off in the event were Assistant Minister in the Chief Minister’s Department and also Assistant Minister of Environment Datuk Len Talif Salleh and Batang Ai assemblyman Malcolm Mussen in the Invited Guests category that included the KGS vice president Prof Dr Mohd Syafiq and secretary Shahary Alias as well as committee members.

The shotgun tee-off was at 12 noon and the first flight returned before 5pm where a sumptuous buffet dinner was served along to music from a live band.

Malcolm and Mohd Syafiq who both spoke at the closing ceremony, commended and congratulated SCGA for the successful event which not only promoted golf fellowship but also inter-racial harmony.
