KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah government will continue its commitment to the hospitality and tourism sector by allocating substantial funds through the state budget, said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman yesterday.

He said the industry was one of the primary income-generating sectors for Sabah and aimed to improve infrastructure for accessibility to all tourism spots in the state.

“The state government has done and will continue to provide the best economic stimuli to boost the industry in order to remain sustainable in the long run,” he said at the Asia Tourism Institute College’s 15th Convocation Ceremony here.

Musa said graduates in hospitality and tourism played a vital role in supporting the state government in meeting Sabah’s need for skilled and knowledgeable people in the field.

He said an abundance of jobs would be created through the implementation of the Economic Transformation Programme, especially in the hospitality and tourism industry. — Bernama
